Automation & Media Processing Platform
An end-to-end Node.js pipeline that discovers, validates, processes, and distributes media—with recovery designed into the workflow.
The work keeps moving. Even when a dependency doesn’t.
A workflow with recovery built in.
Discover → Validate → Process → Publish → Report → Clean up. Simplified explanatory diagram, not a product screenshot.01 / The problem
A repetitive media workflow depended on external systems, large files, and many points of failure. Running it manually limited output to up to three videos per workday, with more than two hours of work per video.
02 / What I built
I built the whole path: discovery and extraction, validation, duplicate prevention, media processing, uploading, reporting, cleanup, and failure recovery. The goal was unattended operation, not just a successful happy path.
03 / Engineering decisions
Stream the work, not the memory.
Streaming downloads and resource management support large-file processing. HLS playlist handling, quality selection, segmented downloads, and FFmpeg workflows cover the media-processing stage.
Treat failure as part of the workflow.
Retry strategies, fallback handling, validation, and detailed operational logging make external-system failures diagnosable and recoverable.
Close the operational loop.
Duplicate prevention, automated publishing, reporting, and cleanup turn a sequence of scripts into a system that can keep operating with minimal manual intervention.
Production in context
videos successfully processed
continuous operation with minimal manual intervention
automated output, versus up to 3 manually per workday

04 / Inspect the engineering
Here’s what
you can open.
Public engineering reference; not the private production deployment. Production figures come from my CV, not from this repository.
resilient-media-pipelineWhat the public reference demonstrates
- A sequential, run-once Node.js pipeline with configurable source and destination adapters.
- Direct and finite-HLS downloads, media validation, bounded retries, in-run deduplication, and idempotency-key uploads.
This reference does not provide a durable queue, automatic resume, or cross-run local deduplication. It is not the long-running production deployment.
The repository README describes its scope and limitations. Production claims and public reference-code behavior are intentionally kept separate.
